“Youneverdidkeepyourpromise,”MeiLinsaidsuddenly.Caldwellalmostchokedonhisfood.

ItwasdefinitelyonewaytobreaktheiceandshewasbeginningtogetunfortablewiththeintensityofCaldwell’sstare.AsmuchasCaldwelldidn’twanttoadminit,MeiLinhadturnedouttobeevenmoreattractivethanwhenshewasateenager.Herfeatureswerealotstronger,moreintense.Herbodywaslithelikeaballetdancerwithwell-tonedmuscles.Herfacewasalotmoreassured.Tonight,shewaswearingastraplesstopwhichtoldanyonewhocaredtolookthatshespentalotoftimeinthegymandthedojo.Shehadwideelegantshouldersandapactmidrifftaperingofftoaslimwaist.Hereyeshadn’tchangedmuch.TheywereslightlydarkerinthesubduedlightoftheVietnameserestaurantlocatedastone’sthrowfromShekOBeach.

Wasn’tshelayingitonabitthick,allthisstuffaboutbeingunhappy?ShelookedperfectlyOKtohim.
